Junior Section Rules

JUNIOR SECTION RULES

Gomersal Cricket Club has a separate constitution concerning the governance and articles of association of the whole club.
We hope that this additional set of rules will provide a good guide to how we want the Junior section of the club to be run. We are sure parents/guardians and children alike will benefit from adherence to them.
Gomersal Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, Coaches, administrators, volunteers and parents associated with the club should, at all times,

  • Show respect
  • Be encouraged to be open at all times
  • And to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club initially with the Junior Cricket Committee. The next stage would be the Senior Cricket Committee and then the General Committee.

As a member of Gomersal Cricket Club you are expected to abide by the following junior club laws:

  • All members must play cricket within the laws and in the spirit of the game.
  • All members respect umpires and their decisions. Do not show dissent. Do not throw tantrums or cricket bats. Such behaviour will not be tolerated by the Group Managers & Coaches.

  • Members should keep to agreed timings for cricket practice and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are not able to attend or that they are going to be late.
  • When attending cricket practice members must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the conditions (i.e. helmet, pads, box & appropriate footwear, approved cricket balls, etc) as agreed with their team coach.
  • Match-day attire must be as agreed with their team coach (i.e. whites, etc.).

  • Members should act in accordance with the Clubs Code of Conduct.
  • Juniors / Youth Section Members are reminded that when displaying a Club badge they are seen as representatives of the Club and should behave appropriately to safe guard the good name of Gomersal Cricket Club.
  • All Junior / Youth Section members must adhere to all other Club guidelines.

The Management Committee may reprimand, suspend for such period as they think fit, or expel from membership any member, in their opinion, bringing disrepute to the Juniors / Youth Section or wilfully disobeying any of these laws.
