On Saturday 2nd March, Glossop North End travel to face Colne at the NORI Stadium. Following a recent setback at home against Kendal Town, where Glossop succumbed to a 1-0 defeat, Richard Brodie's men seek redemption on the road.

Glossop currently stand 18th in the league table and 20th in the form table, amidst a challenging phase with only one victory in their last six encounters. Despite their recent struggles, Glossop boast talents such as Harry Freedman, their leading goal scorer with twelve goals, and the promising Tom Lawless, who has contributed five goals since his arrival in December. Additionally, the potential return of fan favorite Jacques Etia, who made a cameo appearance against Kendal, adds anticipation to Glossop's lineup.

Manager Richard Brodie, acknowledging the upcoming challenge, emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards and motivation within the squad. In his own words, "After two narrow defeats we go to another top ten side, Colne, who I believe should be higher in the table. We have to keep motivated to keep standards high and keep picking up points to finish as high as we can. This isn’t an easy place to go but we need to start letting the handbrake off a little more and get more bodies forward. I’m looking forward to a strong end to the season."

Facing Glossop is Colne, currently 10th in the league and demonstrating formidable form with three wins, two draws, and one defeat in their last six fixtures. Spearheaded by Lucas Weaver, who earned the accolade of the North West Counties Football League player of the month for January 2024, Colne pose a significant offensive threat, with Weaver boasting an impressive tally of 33 goals in 33 appearances.

Previous encounters this season between these two sides, both within a week of each other in August 2023, one in the FA Cup and the other in the league, both resulted in 2-1 victories for Colne, with Harry Freedman finding the net in both meetings for the Hillmen. He will be hoping to repeat this and more in this away fixture.

As Glossop North End brace themselves for another challenging game away from home, the match against Colne presents an opportunity for redemption and resurgence.
