Anti Doping

Overview

The relevance of anti-doping has increased in recent years alongside the accelerated speed at which professional sports has grown. Hockey is no exception and the importance of a clean sport has never been more crucial to the integrity and success of the sport. Hockey players at every level should be aware of the risks of taking banned substances, whether it be accidentally, intentionally or on a recreational basis. Check the WADA list of banned substances for the chemical names of illegalised drugs.

If you are still unsure contact your Doctor or Team physio.

If you are on regular medication you may need a TUE form which you should have with you every training and all tournaments. Information on TUE forms can be found here.

Players, Staff and Coaches, teachers, parent's and all involved in hockey should be encouraged to complete the Anti Doping ' Real Winner' on-line educational portal off the ISC or FIH website or direct via this link.

It takes a 1.5 total hours but can be done in held modules. You will receive a certificate on completion.

If anyone has any queries on anti-doping they should feel free to contact Peter Jackson via the IHA Office - 00 353 1 716329
