2 August 2022 – Fleet, Hampshire – Fleet Town Football Club, a Hampshire FA-affiliated club and the oldest sports club in the town, today announced it is joining forces with Fleet Town Girls & Ladies FC, and Fleet Town Colts FC to become a Community Club with the aim of being open, inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of age, ability or background. The occasion was marked with the unveiling of a new Community Club crest which will be rolled out across kits for all three clubs over the coming 2022-23 season.

The first formal outing for the new crest will be this coming Saturday 6 August as Fleet Town FC plays host in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup at Calthorpe Park. The modern looking crest was created as part of a full club rebranding project expertly delivered by top local design and branding agency, Brandtastic.

“Our new Community Club Status heralds the dawn of a new era for our club which we recognise needs to reimagine its role within the local area to ensure it remains relevant for the community, and truly open and accessible to all," said club Chairman, Caroline Bone. “It seemed fitting that we mark the occasion with a smart new crest which tips its hat to our heritage while showing our commitment to the future.”

Fleet Town Football Club was formed in 1890 and its new Community Club status will see the coming together of a Men’s and Ladies First team, and more than 400 players in girls’ and boys’ youth teams all the way from under 5’s to under 18’s. Through the careful guidance of chairman, Caroline Bone, a passionate local community advocate, together with the club committee, the council and a growing army of supporters, volunteers and partners is working hard to create a fun and friendly environment for all.

“Our vision for the Community Club is to create a space that can be enjoyed by the entire town,” continued Caroline. “Where, regardless of ability, everyone has a place, a home, to play and enjoy football.”

The crest is just the start of the Community Club journey and over the coming months the club will share its plans and aspirations to move forward under its new status.
