Review mid point season.

It’s not been a good start to the season with first team bottom and the second team at number 7 in the league. The club was hit by a number of injuries along with non-availability of players when the season started. We also lost some key players who decided to play their cricket elsewhere. We wish them well!!

The lack of nets, training across both teams impacted performances and will continue to do so if training and nets are not held. There needs be a more of an effort on nets if the teams would like to do better in the 2nd half of the season and survive relegation. As the month Ramadan ends we are seeing more players come back and this means we should aim to win more games across both teams and make sure there is structure in place to ensure better performances.

Bowling across both teams remains a concern as evidenced by only 2 bowlers taking more than 10 wickets. Picking up wickets in the opening spells is something we lacked in majority of the games and should be addressed in the 2nd half of the season. Line and length training sessions should be able to address this issue. We also have some new players come in the club and are settling in and the club hopes they will give us some key performances in the 2nd half. The age-old issue of staying on the crease and not giving away your wicket is again something we need to work on and always play full overs. Fielding has been a mixed bag with some great catches and fielding, However certain days we have been shocking on the pitch.

Discipline & Team Work
Some players continue to not show up on time, do not show up for nets, do not help in any way on match day with tasks and yet continue to ask why isn’t the team doing well. Please do your part in helping the team, your captain, your teammates and most importantly the Club.

Forget the past 2 months because you cant influence the past, Change the present and we can influence the future. We can work better as a team and our performances can improve, as there is lot of room for that. Please be a team player, show up for nets, arrive on time for games and play with the right attitude.

Wishing all the best for the second half of the season.

Do or Died!!
