Oval Ground Re-Development

Eastbourne United AFC are currently in the process of redeveloping our home of over 60 years the Oval to comply with football association legislation.

In 2008 we installed brand new Floodlights and took the decision as a committee to upgrade the ground to comply with football association legislation.

The legislation requires us to install new seated and covered stands for spectators, Turnstiles, a new protected walkway for players and officials and hard standing around all four sides of the pitch.

In addition to this we require to "enclose" the ground with fencing.

All this work has the support of the Friends of Princess Park and the Davis-Gilbert Trust and planning application was submitted to Eastbourne Borough Council in January 2011, Planning permission was granted in March 2011.

The club is now in the process of raising the funds needed through sponsorship and fund-raising activities to help toward the redevelopment.

The club was awarded funding of £40,475 by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund in August 2011.

Of the work required new pathways have been installed along the north and south sides of the ground, The seated and standing stand bases have been laid and work has begun on the installation of a new perimeter fence.

Full copies of the plans are available to view in our club house or should you wish any more information please contact us via our contacts page.
