Hamlet score 3 without reply against promotion chasers. By Alfie Jones

Dulwich Hamlet faced play-off pushing Wingate & Finchley at Dulwich Hamlet, with Dulwich looking to leapfrog Hashtag United to move up to 10th. For Dulwich, three points at Champion Hill is always the aim.

Dulwich made their mark early, with in-form winger Anthony Jeffrey driving at the defence on the counterattack, before driving the ball low into the bottom right corner. Suddenly, Dulwich had an early platform to build on.

The success continued with a flurry of early attacks and set pieces as Dulwich looked to extend their lead, whilst at the other end goalkeeper R'avan Constable tipped a smart free kick wide to deny Wingate & Finchley’s first real effort.

Before the half hour mark, Riley Scott tiptoed into the box but couldn’t find the space for an effort on goal, so passed the ball back to left-back Binnom-Williams who smashed the ball into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box.

Dulwich remained comfortable for the remainder of that first half, with no threat from the opposition. At half time, Dulwich found themselves 2-0 up and in a great position to claim three points at Champion Hill. The only negative was the injury to the captain Ricketts, who was replaced by Egan just before half time.

The second half began, and Dulwich remained comfortable. It was a scrappy affair, with what was most likely to be a record number of aerial duels on display. However, Dulwich made their strengths in the air count. After a couple near opportunities from set pieces, which included Clifton hitting the woodwork, Manny Parry made it two in two after nodding home a corner in the 68th minute.

Dulwich had all but confirmed the three points at that point, with a comfortable, professional display for the last twenty-five minutes or so. The game ended 3-0, an outstanding home performance and a real platform to build on for Hakan’s men.

Up next for Dulwich is Margate away, where Dulwich will be hoping to continue this impressive run at both ends of the pitch.
