Doncaster Town V Denaby United Academy

Another great performance saw Town keep there position at the top of league.

Denaby were the visitors today and after a close pre season friendly Town started the game with a defensive set up and the game started the opposite way with a few very early chance from Alex Aliin was just the start of another great afternoon of football.

An early goal line clearance and a penalty shout dismissed could of saw Town start as they wanted but they could of been punished early on as the tricky pace and feet of the Denaby players saw Town have to deal with a nervy 5-10 minutes but the nerves where soon settled when Alex Aliin calmly slotted away to make it 1-0 Town and wasn't long before the lead was double when Mihail Negoita had the ball fall at his feet in the box to bury it in the back of the net 2-0. This set Town very comfortable and the back line now standing ground and dealt the attacking Denaby side very well and the net wasn't really threatened. Another 10 minutes later and the lead was extended a ball over the top from Declan Sullivan saw great control from Alex Aliin to knock it down with his head and hit a thunderous strike past the Denaby keeper 3-0 after a lot of deep attacking by Town it weren't long before Allin was on his hatrick some fancy dancing in the box left him one on one to get his 3rd of the day. The half ended 4-0

A few changes at half time saw Town start nervy again and Denaby came out the half very attacking and wasn't long before there efforts were rewarded after some fancy play and a break through the town back line saw the ball put beyond Alex Mares. This didn't do well for Towns nerves. A bit of pick me up with a lot of passing play saw them settle a bit more behind the ball and the nerves were settled 5 minutes later when a through ball from Alex Allin saw
Sam Tanner run through one on one and hit a cool left footed shot past the keeper 5-1 Town, Town played off this now and the efforts now pushed into a more attacking game and was later reward when Razvan Bogoi's free kick tricking the Denaby wall, a cheeky lob over the wall found Aliin at the penalty spot to put away for his 4th of the day. A short burst of attack from Denaby saw them go close a breakdown in communication led to a Denaby player being left with the ball outside the 6 yard box only a great save from Alex Mares denied a further goal on the score sheet. Town weren't finished yet with not long left on the clock as captain Haydn Cahill burst through the Denaby back line for some fancy footwork to trick the Denaby keeper and slot away for his 3rd goal of the season. Another great performance by Town and sees them on the road next week for there 1st away game of the season against Yorkshire Main

MOTM went to Nick Clamp a solid performance from both centre halves today which gave Town a great confidence at the back and allowed them to play a more attacking game
