Quarter final of the cup saw Town take on Moorends at Balby Carr and the game started in Towns side favour with a few players back in the team saw the romp to a 5-0 win.
A few early frustrations from Town as they failed to compromise on the chances created with Alex Aliin going the closest. The luck changed for Town a few minutes later after a penalty was granted to Town and Haydn Cahill stepped up 1-0 Town with this settling nerves Town now stepped and played a lot more of an attacking gain and wasn't long before Mihail Negoita added to his tally after a ball through to him was calmly slotted away 2-0. Moorends didn't really threaten the town goal in the first half with the closest coming when some fancy footwork from the Moorends player left him 1 on 1 but Michael Archer stepped up and intervened with a very good tackle. Town went into the break 2-0
A couple of changes at the break and turn of performance as they started the half very sloppy at a few chances left them boxed in there own half and some poor communication let the ball fall through to a Moorends player who tried to slip a shot past Jake Slater but denied with a great save to deny his clean sheet being dented. This seem to step up Towns game and the reintroduction of Mihail with 25 minutes left was what was needed a lovely little pass from Lee McFadden had Mihail bursting towards the away goal and a cheeky lob over the Moorends keeper 3-0 Town. This spark saw a new lease of life and weren't much longer before Haydn Cahill added to the score sheet with a brilliant strike into the top corner after some good passing play saw Town 4-0 up. The game wasn't done yet a shot from Alex Aliin saw Mihail jump onto the end of it and slot away for his hatrick and a 5-0 win for Town. A lot of good football from Town today and a strong performance from the back 4 and Jake saw Towns first clean sheet and early Ciocan Vali man of the match after a strong and calm game.
Town await the semi final draw.
