About the team

Whilst the Covid-19 situation has meant that training has been disrupted this past season, we are now able to train in line with the current Scottish Government and SRU guidelines.

Micros is for all children age 5 to 7 years old (Primary 1 to 3) and is non-contact. Training is held weekly (term time) from 9.30am until 10.45am each Saturday morning at Woodend pitches, the home of Deeside Rugby (across from Tesco). The matches are either tag or touch rugby - all focused on trying to use the skills we have trained that morning, what we have learned before and to develop good coordination, spatial awareness and teamwork but most importantly to have fun.

If you have a Micro who would like to take part for the 2021-22 season (starting August 2021) get their name on the list now as spaces are filling up fast. (Those already training will retain their place; no need to re-register). Micros training is usually on the main pitch. No kit necessary to come along and try - simply training shoes, a water bottle and dress appropriately for the Scottish weather. Email: directorofrugby@deesiderfc.onmicrosoft.com

If your child decides they want to continue with rugby, DRFC kit can be purchased on Saturday mornings from the kit room (next to the clubhouse) on site. There is also a second-hand rugby boot exchange facility for little feet that keep growing fast ....ask at kit room for more details.
