**WOW!!.... WHAT A WEEKEND!! ... FIRST SILVERWARE OF THE SEASON!!**
Here is your round-up of an amazing weekend at Dartford Valley Rugby Club!!
**DARTFORD U14s GIRLS - KENT COUNTY WATERFALL FINALS - BOWL CHAMPIONS**
============================================
Coach Phil - 2 games. First vs GAS (Gravesend, Aylesford & Sheppey). Won 15-10 & we made it more difficult for ourselves on a very heavy pitch. The 2nd game was played against an Old Alleynians team who had suffered injuries in their 1st game & agreement was made to play 15 a side using GAS players to make up numbers. Much tougher game but we used our speed in the backs to cut through to score 3 tries. A last play try from the opposition made it 15-10 however the sheer determination to win every tackle in the 2nd half created the platform for these girls to win the Bowl for 2024. Hugely proud!
**DARTFORD U12s GIRLS - KENT COUNTY WATERFALL FINALS - BOWL CHAMPIONS**
================================================
Coach Tom - U12 Girls Waterfall finals day… Hosted by Dartford Valley and what an afternoon showcasing what girls rugby is all about… Teamwork, fun and 100% effort!!
Dartford Valley played 3, won 3 scored 28 tries and conceded 0…. Every single one of our girls stepped up in front of a big crowd and delivered 3 performances to be proud of…. Our work rate in D, like a swarm of Red and black bees never giving any of our opponents any time to play… In attack our offloading out of contact to support runners time and time again proved far too much for our opponents..
Dartford Valley U12 Kent Bowl winners 2024…One very proud coach #thesegirlsdid
**BECCS VALLEY U16s GIRLS vs Sevenoaks / Dartfordians**
=============================================
Coach Henry - Kent County league - Bonus Point Win 29-14.
U16s Girls had a top of the Table clash in the County League against SevenDarts. Going into the match Beccs Valley were 5-0 (matches) , sitting 2nd in the table on points difference. The girls started with intensity, typical big hits, dynamic running and great support play saw us 0-12 up at half time. Second half a lot tighter, with some of the best rugby I’ve seen played (by both sides) this season. A brace of tries shared by both teams ended in undoubtedly our biggest Win on the season 14-29. Win secured, Bonus point secured, Top of the table!! Three games to go - three wins will see us as County League Champs. Same again next week Please Girls!!
**MEN 1st XV vs Gillingham Anchorians RFC**
==================================
DOR George - A must win game for the first team as they hosted a strong Gillingham side looking to right the wrongs from earlier in the season. A physical affair with both packs going at eachother for 80 minutes. A strong last 20 meant dartford lads edged the contest coming out on top 25-17. Huge shift from the boys who have a rest week ahead before playing Ayelsford away.
**DARTFORD U12s BOYS at Beckenham RFC**
===================================
Coach Ross - After a last minute fixture change the u 12’s travelled to Beckenham rfc to take on a very big and powerful side who were strong in contact and had real threats out wide. Our boys stood up to the challenge marvellously and put in a defensive effort that showed real progress in our technique, physicality and organisation. A few handling errors from valley at inopportune moments left a 7-2 score line that did not fully reflect how competitive the game was. However with lots of game minutes for a few new or inexperienced players, this week was another steep learning curve for our lads who will be all the better for the experience. Onwards!
**DARTFORD U10s at Sittingbourne Rugby Club**
=====================================
Coach Lisa - For our U10’s, some great stuff today in the attack sense, lovely running, good passing and collective togetherness.
The tackling is getting better across the team but we can improve still and make our life’s easier during games. It will come in time, with some hard work and desire.
Big mentions to Josh who was a tackle monster today, Teddy who is improving week on week and Sam for running in a length of the pitch try that should live long in the memory!!
Very grateful that we get to be a part of their successes!!
**DARTFORD U15s BOYS 26 - 40 Dover Sharks RFC**
======================================
Coach Chris - A hard fought, physical County League game from both teams saw Dover run out eventual winners. Dartford led 19-10 at the half, but Dover's ball movement was fantastic after the break and they were able to score some good tries out wide.
**BECCS VALLEY U18s GIRLS vs ABS**
==========================
Coach Dave - Beccs Valley vs ABS 47-10. With the girls receiving a HWO against EVK a friendly game was scheduled at short notice verses ABS. It was a close game in the league match at the start of the season, but today was on another level. Another outstanding performance from the girls
**DARTFORD U9s at Sittingbourne Rugby Club**
====================================
Coach Dan - From a grey start to a sunny finish, our U9’s enjoyed a mixed session against a competitive Sittingbourne team. Very pleased to see Ben C and Mielan working together on tackling, holding up the opposition really well. Elliott showing his development of ball carrying skills made several impressive driving runs. Well done all our U9’s, another fantastic session!
Another brilliant weekend of community, grassroots rugby across club sections. Congratulations to all teams, especially the Girls bringing home the first silverware of the season ... with hopefully more to follow across club sections!!
Onwards & upwards!!
