CLUB HISTORY

The Cosmos UK FC (simply the Cosmos) are an offshoot of the American professional soccer club based in New York City and its suburbs.

The team formed in 2011 by Max Biddle due to the chairman wanting a fun Cosmopolitan place to play football for himself and friends.

Cosmos originally played home games on the Downs whilst in the downs league, before moving in 2013 to Muller Road and joining the Bristol & Suburban League.in Division 5 where it remained for a year or two until the club started growing and gained a Reserves allowing the First Team to be promoted to Divion 4.

Based largely around its backing of Max Biddle Chairman, which enabled it to sign friends and local players looking for a game of football the club contuined to grow and keep its status in Division 4,back in 2016 the club signed local manager Paul Lloyd who had a successful season at Avonmouth FC but was looking for a long term project and Cosmos Fitted that bill perfectly.

Under the guidance of Lloyd the club signed some new players such as the international youtuber and forward Jack Maynard, former player Richard Gamblin and Romanian Defender Alin Majeri along with blending original talent like Wayne Daniels, Sam Mundy and Corwin Easy the next season the club went from bottom to 6th in the league.

After a few more signings including young winger Ethan Caswell, Mike Horricks and the return of Brad Mead the club went on win its first title and progress out of Division 4 racking up some impressive performances along the way.,

The Following Season the club continued to progress with a tough season in Division 3 but managed to come 3rd and again get promoted to the joy of all involved within the club.

With success on the pitch the club was destined to grow off it and the following season the Cosmos Family grew to Three Saturday teams and one Sunday team, but with the growth continued success on the pitch was happening with both the first team and reserves getting promoted again with the First team crushing everything in the way and recording yet another top season.

But the best was to come later when the First Team now only won the Division 2 title the following season but also got to the Gloucester FA cups Semi Finals and the Finals of the League cup narrowly losing on the dreaded penalties.

The next Season saw Lloyd leave for personal reasons and the club lose both reserves and the third team on Saturday and disband the Sunday team as well, with the such upheaval the club struggled that season when fate stepped in and the worldwide outbreak of Covid 19 prematurely brought an end to the season calling it Void.

With the World hopefully getting back to normality the season started restarted for the 20/21 season and with Lloyd returning along with the core of the team from the past few seasons things were looking up and Cosmos were enjoying being Top of the table again.... until Covid came back with a vengeance and again caused the season to stop in October.2020.

After a lot happening over the years from title wins, cup finals, and Tours abroad Cosmos have finally moved up to the Bristol and Suburban Senior Divison and enjoy the group we have called home for a few years now, Keynsham Somerdale Pavillion.
Ambition is as high as ever in the cosmos camp and we will continue to push for higher leagues and bigger challenges.

The Cosmos name remains very well known within Bristol and is always ready to welcome new players from where ever you come from we have a vast array of nationalities within the squad and really live up to the name Cosmopolitan (Cosmos for Short).

Here's to many more years of Cosmos playing football in the Bristol area and always adding another chapter to an already rich history.
