Corwen made their second trip to Stansty Park within a week, as after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Coedpoeth United on the previous Saturday afternoon they found themselves on the pitch next to the Mold Road again the following Friday evening to face Lex XI.
Early on in the game a cross was played in to the Lex box, where captain Scott Evans volleyed the ball at goal, but he could only send the ball straight at goalkeeper Joey Jones.
On the quarter of an hour mark Owen Cordiner played the ball low to Scott Evans, who swung a leg at the ball, but saw it get stuck under his feet. The ball found its way to Robbie Williams, who poked the ball wide.
Penalty
Ten minutes later Corwen were awarded a penalty kick for handball, which Alex Webster took, and he powered the ball beyond Joey Jones to open the scoring.
Goal
Two minutes later there was a scramble in the Corwen box and former Welsh Premier player Ricky Evans was able to pass the ball on to Kian Davies, who was able to level the scores.
The last action of the half saw Own Cordiner play the ball back to Alex Webster, who leathered a shot wide of the target from the edge of the box.
Half Time
After the interval Owen Cordiner was able to bring the ball down before playing a quick 1-2 with Alex Webster, but he could only put his shot narrowly wide of the target.
Robbie Williams tried to entertain the crowd when he went for goal from an overhead kick, but he was unable to find a supreme goal as the ball went over the bar.
Goal
With thirteen minutes to go Owen Cordiner was able to stay onside to collect a long ball and saw his first shot blocked before lining up a second, which he slotted beyond Joey Jones.
A few minutes later the visitors had a shout for a penalty, but the referee waved away their claims.
As the game entered the final ten minutes the hosts looked for a second equaliser, but their effort was blasted wide.
Corwen looked to seal victory from a corner, which found its way to Alex Webster, whose blasted shot was blocked, found its way to Alan Huxley, who nearly knocked the ball into his own net.
Goal
With a minute of the ninety left to play a Lex throw in headed towards the penalty area, where a spectacular overheard kick from Kian Davies levelled the scores.
Corwen looked for a winner in stoppage time, with their best effort falling to Tow Williams, who sent a low shot from distance wide of the target.
