The Club uses Barry's Fields Sports Ground in Winterslow having previously been based at Winterslow Recreation ground until around 2004 when uses Barry's Fields Sports Ground in Winterslow for training sessions and as their home ground for matches although some teams have played at other locations for logistical purposes.

We have over 15 qualified coaches as well as numerous adult helpers assisting across the age groups. All our regular helpers are CRC/DBS checked and have attended Safeguarding Children Workshops.

Most of our matches are played in and around Salisbury and Andover, athough some fixtures mean we travel for fixtures in and around Swindon, Basingstoke Winchester, Southampton or Portsmouth. We have also visited the Isle of Wight.

All out teams now compete in the Testway Andover League. In the past we have had teams compete in the South Wilts Youth & Minor Badger League, the North Wilts League, Southampton Tyro League, the Southampton Youth League while the girls teams have competed in the Winchester District Girls League and the Hampshire Girls League. The mens team played in the Andover & Disctrict Sunday Football League.

HISTORY
Junior football has been played on and off in the village for many years, but the present Winterslow mini soccer set up has been running in much the same way since 1993. It was originally started by a few keen 'Dads' (probably trying to relive past glories!!!), but the founder members have now moved on (as their children have grown up) and the club had continued on a 'hand-me-down' basis over the years.

In June 2001, despite healthy numbers in the under 10s and below age groups, the club was struggling with players for its Under 11s team, and the decision was made to rename the club in the short term to Clarendon Juniors in an attempt to recruit new players from the surrounding areas who didn't want to join a village they didn't come from. (Clarendon Way links Winterslow with Salisbury and Clarendon was deemed a suitable name)

The decision paid off and despite the Under 11s having to move out of the village soon after due to lack of playing pitches, the club grew massively. Had the name not changed the club was on rocky grounds and may well have folded. A club committee was formally formed and the rest they say is ...

At the end of the 2003/2004 season the club had some 80 children at the club, with teams being run at Under 14, Under 11, Under 10, Under 9 and Under 8 age groups while 6 and 7 year olds were taken for training in the 'Academy group'. The Under 10s and below were able to play in mini-soccer leagues in the village, while the Under 14s and Under 11s were forced to play home matches in Salisbury.
That season saw the Under 14s and Under 10s both win their leagues while the Under 9s came runners-up in their league.

The 2004/2005 Season saw the club break the 100 members mark for the first time by running six teams at under 8's, 9's, 10's 11's, 12's and 15's. While the academy catered for 6 year olds.
The Under 11s and Under 9s won their leagues, while the Under 10s came runners-up in their league.

The following season was even more successful with over 125 players on the clubs books. Teams were ran from Under 8s through to Under 13s and a team of Under 16s.
The Under 8s won their league, while the Under 11s did the league and cup double. The Under 9s, Under 12s and Under 16s came runners-up in their respective leagues while the Under 12s also got to the cup final. Four of the Under 16s squad were selected to represent the Testway league in a representative match, while two players in the club had trials with football league clubs.

A similar number were registered with the club for the 2006/2007 season with the Under 9s, Under 13s and Under 18s finishing as runners-up in their leagues and the other teams finishing in the top 5.
Three teams reached their cup finals, while various players were selected to play for Wiltshire and one Under 18s player was selected for England Under 16s trials.

The Club had 140 players signed on for the 2007/08 season including for the first time ever an all girls team with the Under 12s girls playing in the Winchester Girls League finishing 4th.
The under 10s completed a league and cup double, while there were further strong finishes from the Under 8s, 12s & 14s who all finished in the top 3 of their respective leagues and the Under 18s completed their youth football careers ending midtable in the Southampton Youth League.

Nine teams were run in the 2008/09 Season - under 8's through to under 15's and for the first time a Clarendon mens team was formed which provide the previous seasons under 18's a route to continue playing and long term future players now had a pathway to continue at the club.

For the first time in the clubs history, the 2009/10 Season saw a team at each group from under 8's to under 16's and a mens first team and reserve team brought the total of teams upto 11. The under 9's and under 15's girls both won their leagues and the Under 13's and 14's finished runners-up in league and cup. The under 9's and 12's also reached cup finals while the Mens team were promoted and reached a cup final.

The 2010/2011 Season saw 10 teams run from under 9's through to under 15's and under 18's. An under 16's girls teams and a mens team also completed the teams. The Under 10's and 11's both won their leagues while the under 9's won the cup. The club also announced an affiliation and partnership with Downton Football Club which offered benefits to both clubs.

2011/2012 onwards has seen the club continue to be of the top youth clubs in the area regularly finishing at the top of league tables as well as playing football the way it should be played and players development at the forefront of our coaching.

The club has maintained its member number at around the 125 mark with teams running from under 7, through to under 18’s and the club is one of the most recognised setups in the local area.

The 2016/2017 season was the clubs most successful with three of our teams winning their leagues and 5 cups being won and also finished runners up in 4 cup competitions. The following season resulted in further successes both on and off the pitch.

The 2018/19 season saw us have over 150 members with many on the waiting list. In April 2019 the club announced a partnership with Saints Foundation.

Our club website (www.clarendonjuniorsfc.co.uk) has been live since September 2000 and has developed into a vital tool in promoting the club with our members area regularly visited by all our players and parents as a way of us communicating news and information along with fixtures, results and stats.
