Josateki loved rugby of both codes representing the Army Rugby League Team and 7's squads. He had a great energy for the game and loved to tackle and was a proud serving soldier.

It is with immense shock and sadness we have to announce the sudden and tragic loss of a gifted player. Josateki Matasere (29) who played the last 2 seasons for the SWANS mainly as a strong running No. 8 but was also a centre. Josateki loved rugby of both codes representing the Army Rugby League Team and 7's squads. He had a great energy for the game and loved to tackle and was a proud serving soldier. As a club we send our deepest condolences to his comrades, friends and family in Fiji at this very sad time. RIP brother. From everyone at Christleton SWANS RUFC.
