June 17/18/19 2016, St. Gallen (Switzerland)

Dear rugby enthusiasts,
It is with great excitement that we invite you to take part in the “Bishops Cup 2016”, which will be hosted for the 22nd time by the Rugby Football Club The Bishops St. Gallen. We proudly look back at Bishops Cup’s successful history ever since this great tournament started back in 1995.
Over the years, the Bishops Cup has steadily developed to be Switzerland's biggest rugby tournament and has attracted international sides from many countries around Europe and North America. Participants have enjoyed the unique combination of competition, sportsmanship and the sociability of an extensive third half, unique to Bishops Cup. All of this is set in a perfect location.
It is therefore no surprise that numerous teams have consistently returned over the years honoring us with their presence time and time again. For many teams, the Bishops Cup is the finishing highlight of their rugby season.
So do not miss out and be part of the 22nd edition of this great tournament.

About the tournament
The Bishops Cup is a 10-a-side rugby tournament consisting of two categories. The Cindy Trophy for the ladies and the Bishops Cup for the gentlemen. Experienced referees from the London Society of Rugby Union Referees will be in action whereby the rules of the IRB apply. The preliminary matches last 2 x 10 minutes, the finals 2 x 15 minutes.

Impressions of our tournament

The City of St. Gallen
The history of the city traces back to the 7th century. Today, St. Gallen is the cultural and economic center of Eastern Switzerland. Famous landmarks include the Abbey of St. Gallen, the convent and library, which is one of the richest and oldest medieval libraries in the world. The Abbey and its surroundings are been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1983. Around 1910, St. Gallen really started to flourish. During that period, St. Gallen grew into one of the largest and most important manufacturers and exporters of embroidery. Today, this rich historic heritage is still very much present and can be seen in the impressive architecture, most visible in the lovely old part of the city.

Start packing your boots and look forward to seeing you all there.....!!
