Chard Rugby Club entered a mix of members from across the teams in the club into the Fire Service 3 Peaks challenge (climbing the highest mountains in the UK in less than 24hrs including the driving in between) to raise money for both the Rugby Club and The Firefighters Charity. In what was some of the hottest temperatures on record and club members from across ages spanning three decades took on the gruelling challenge of climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland at 1345 metres in height then driving to the English Lake District and climbing Scaffel Pike at 978 metres before heading then to North Wales to scale Mount Snowdon at 1085 metres bringing them a silver medal with a time of 21 hours and 45 minutes. The team raised over £2000 pounds divided between Chard Rugby Club and the Firefighters Charity.
