1sts draw at home as Reserves hit 9 away

1sts end 1 - 1 vs Comberton; Reserves win at St Ives

Both sides picked up points on Saturday, making it a positive day for CUP FC.

The 1sts drew 1 - 1 at home to Comberton United in a competitive Kershaw Premier match. Hodgson grabbed his fifth goal for CUP, as 1sts ended the match with 10 men as Gwynne was a given straight red in the final minute - for a second time this season. CUP drop to 5th in the table, but with games in hand on those above.

The Reserves scored 9 (nine) for a second consecutive year at St Ives Rangers, going one better with a 9 - 1 win in this Senior B clash. There were five scorers (Hart, John, Mendes, Watson and Will) plus an own goal. Mendes bagged four, his first from 40 yards, while Watson's half volley was the pick of the goals. Victory saw the Reserves stay 9th and move within three points of the hosts with three games in hand.

This week the Reserves train on Tuesday and the 1sts on Thursday, both a 6.45pm start at the Cass, preparing for the weekend ahead. On Saturday, the 1sts host Eynesbury United in the Prem looking for only a second win of 2020, while the Reserves head to West Wratting Reserves in Senior B aiming to extend the winning run to five and go six unbeaten. Both matches kick off at 2pm.
