A win home away from home
Yet another Saturday of rugby and the excitement was high. A couple of club legends and Fran’s kicking boots decided it was time for a comeback and after a 3 game losing streak what an impact they had on the result.
All started well, 18 players on time ready to warm up, Big Nose Tone not around, perfect recipe for a cracking game.
What a start it was to the game, we decided to start playing from KO and what a difference that made, we were up by 7 in the first 5 minutes of the game with Sam Mads crossing the white line. Brendans woke up and pinned down us deep in our 22 for a good 10 minutes. Heroic defence from the boys in blue, white and red meant that Brendans only managed to score a penalty in front of the posts.
Just like Matt, I can’t remember much of the first half but we score 2 more tries through Mr Wellington and Mr Aniksztejn and we lead 5-19 at half time.
Second half started off the same way we started the game and Conor decided to run 50 meters to validate the bonus point. It is then we decided to miss a few tackles and let Brendans back into the game when they came back within 7 points.
Couple more BAC tries later and we finally got the win we were chasing for so long. Sore bodies but smiles on faces.
