Tomorrow (21/9) we host Rainworth, who are hovering not too far above us in the EMCL on 3 points. Each previous meeting with The Wrens has always been a “not quite” for The Vics. Two very narrow defeats and a last gasp draw in the EMCL and the league cup last season against the relative new comers means both sides have a point to prove in their first meeting of the 2019/20 season. The vital need for a result from both sides will definitely add to the intensity of the game.

We arrive at this point off the back of a defeat from league leaders, Dunkirk in mid-week. The 3-1 loss was not as disappointing as it sounds, however. Vics went one down at 27 minutes and Charlie Goodwin equalised within 40 seconds of the restart. Despite two more goals from Sean Green either side of the break, Vics’ heads never dropped and it always looked as though we had a comeback in us.
