The Greendog fly-half will bring his experience into a new coaching role.

Long time Birstall player, secretary and all round top clubman Kieran Warner has now joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach. His role will mainly focus on working with the backs whilst also supporting Head Coach Lewis “Goose” Glover.

“The first week of pre-season has gone incredibly well! The lads have arrived motivated and focused, setting the bar high from the off. There was a lot of positives to take from the first two sessions and it was great to see them training with a smile on their faces.”

“On a personal note, I am very proud to have been asked by Goose & Duffus to be part of the coaching team this season, a role I hope to embrace. This will be the first time in fifteen years I have missed a pre-season as a player due to injury and already it’s been insightful being involved in the planning of the next few weeks. I am excited for what is to come”.

Catching up with newly appointed captain Adam Ord, the Birstall forward said “we have seen plenty of familiar faces as well as some new ones. The lads have really put in some hard graft this week with sessions planned by our coaching team to be hard but enjoyable for all. The buzz around the club is huge at the minute as we look to push the mighty Greendogs onwards and upwards!”
