Girls U11 Softball

There will be 2 Groups of Teams playing in this competition and they will be as follows:

North Group – Nassington, Peterborough Town, Barnack, Houghton & Wyton
South Group – Eaton Socon, Kimbolton, Bedford and Waresley

The matches will be played on the 19th May, 16th June and 14th July – with the first matches starting at 10am latest to ensure all matches completed before 12. Parents will be notified via Pitchero which girls have been chosen for each fixture.

On each fixture date – all 4 teams in the group will attend and play in 2 games on 17-yard outfield pitches at the host venue.

Basic rules

• 6-a-side – players to be U11 (Year 6 or younger) – Inexperienced Y7 players and other nervous/not hardball ready girls may be able to play too.
• 12 over innings played in pairs – 4 overs per pair.
• All Stars style ball rather than incrediball for extra bounce.
• Possibly one final date for ALL teams to take part.

The rough format of the festival day is as follows:

All the teams will come to one venue which will provide two pitches on the outfield.

The girls will play in 2 matches on a match day (not against all teams but it works out over the 3 match dates).

The first game is usually played at 10 and the 2nd straight after – a match takes just over an hour meaning a finish time of around 12.30 once both games complete.

The match is 12 overs per innings; batted in pairs; 4 overs each so all get a chance to take part. If bowling is shared around then all girls get to bowl a couple of overs aswell.
