About Us

Bedford Cricket Club, based in The Bury, Bedford, is a registered charity as well a limited company. The club was formed from the ashes of Bedford Town Cricket Club in 2006. Since then the club has evolved and has a new board, management and direction, tasked with delivering on the vision set out in 2012. The club has achieved its Club Mark accreditation and is one of 17 Focus Clubs in Bedfordshire.

We offer children, both boys and girls, a cricket pathway from Kwik Cricket level to adult team level. They are coached by volunteers who have either attained their ECB coaching qualifications or in the process of achieving them. They have also been fully CRB vetted and their qualifications are constantly being updated and improved. The club’s coaching qualifications vary from a level 1 to level 3. We have 10 coaches who tirelessly volunteer their time for training sessions and games, motivating the children and instilling team values.

Being a Club Mark accredited club means that BCC is constantly adhering to a set of policies and regulations set out by the ECB. BCC is expected to do a Health Check each season to ensure that these criteria are adhered to. As a Focus Club, BCC is Affiliated to the ECB via their County Cricket Board, is committed to achieving the objectives within Building Partnerships and will work in partnership with ECB, the County Cricket Board, schools and the community to deliver high quality agreed outcomes. BCC has achieved and is committed to maintaining ECB Club Mark status and is accredited by providing evidence that BCC is a safe, effective and child friendly club. BCC also has a Club Development Plan that has been approved by the County Cricket Board and is reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
