Under 7's rugby is classified as Mini Tag Rugby.

Everyone is welcome to join this squad regardless of skill, experience or gender!

To qualify for the U7's squad, children must be 5 years old at the beginning of the season (1st September) - this equates to being in School Year 1. Beccehamian's U7's squad is composed of children from year 1 and year 2 at school. All children in these age brackets are welcome to join practice, the RFU only allow children to play in festivals when they reach the age of 6.

Whenever we are not away at a fixture, we have training/practice at Beccehamians (Sparrow's Den) on Sunday Mornings from 10:30am until 12pm. All are then welcome in the club house for a bite to eat and drink.

Play is regulated by RFU New Rules of Play for Rugby.

Pitches: 20m x 12m + 5m for ingoal areas.
Ball Size: 3
Squad Size: 4-7 players.
Players on Pitch: 3-4 players.
Max Festival Fixture Duration: 5 mins each way.
Max Single Fixture Duration: 10 mins each way.
Starts/Re-starts: Free Pass
Offside Line: 1 metres.
Each player must have 2 tags.
Tagged players must pass within 3 seconds or 3 strides.
Knock-on not penalised - play may continue.
Referee as coach (no coaches on pitch)
Only one step allowed after being tagged to score a Try.

NO CONTACT.
NO TACKLING.
NO DIVING FOR TRY SCORING.
NO KICKING, SCRUMS OR LINEOUTS.
NO HAND-OFFS OR FEND-OFFS.
NO FLY-HACKING (KICKING OF LOOSE BALL ON GROUND).
NO "SQUEEZE-BALL".
