U8's rugby is classified as Mini Tag Rugby.

Everyone is welcome to join this squad regardless of skill, experience or gender!

To qualify for the U8's squad, you must be 7 years old at the beginning of the season (1st September) - this equates to being in School Year 3.

Whenever we are not away at a fixture, we have training/practice at Beccehamians (Sparrow's Den) on Sunday Mornings from 10:30am until 12noon. All are then welcome in the club house for a bite to eat and drink.

Play is regulated by RFU New Rules of Play for Rugby.

Pitches : 45m x 22m +5m for in goal areas.
Ball Size : 3.
Squad Size : 6-10 players.
Players on Pitch : 5-6 players (equal numbers).
Referee as coach, no coaches allowed on pitch
Max Festival Fixture Duration : 5 mins each way (10 mins max).
Starts/Re-starts : Free Pass - Offside Line = 7 metres.
Each player must have 2 tags.
Tagged player must stop and pass within 3 strides or 3 seconds.
Tagger must return the tag to the player once the ball is passed.
On the 7th consecutive tag, the game will be stopped and the ball will be given to other side.
NO CONTACT.
NO KICKING.
NO HAND-OFFS OR FEND-OFFS.
NO FLY-HACKING (KICKING OF LOOSE BALL ON GROUND).
NO "SQUEEZE-BALL".
