Match Funding

There is a fantastic scheme whereby employers provide funding for organisations through their employees.

It is a very simple yet immensely useful tool from which extra funding can be raised. Generally speaking, banks and building societies, insurance companies, supermarkets, utilities providers, phone companies and car manufacturers are known to offer match-funding schemes. Below is a list of companies (by no means exhaustive!) that we understand currently match gifts donated by employees. If your employer is not listed, please contact your HR department to find out if they operate a matching gift scheme.

In most cases, the company will match your donation pound for pound up to a specific level. As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programs, many companies encourage staff to get involved in community projects by offering to match any funds they raise.

This matched funding is a really easy way to increase our fundraising revenue and can easily add as much as £2,000 to the takings of one of our events. So, if you work for any of these, ask your HR department how you can get your company to match fund an event.  And, if you work for a company that isn’t listed, it’s
still worth asking the HR department if they do match funding or even if they are prepared to start doing it!

Below list may be out of date, due to changes in company policies but it’s a potential starting point:
