Club Development

Atherton Dragons ALRFC are extremely pleased to announce the award by Wigan Council of a Long Term Lease on our home at Kings Park, Howe Bridge, Atherton.

This is the culmination of many hours of negotiations with the local council and we are very grateful for their ongoing support, which has secured the long term future of our sports club.

Plans are now being drawn up for the next stages of development of the facilities, which currently include:

* Secure Fencing for the main road boundary
* New car parking facilties
* A re-drainage project for the entire playing fields area
* Re-furbishment of the all-weather pitch (& potential 3G pitch)
* Floodlighting
* New clubhouse/pavillion with changing rooms (See 'Clubhouse' Page)

The club will shortly be commencing the next phase, which includes further planning with our partners, a utilities assessment, tendering & quotes exercise supported by by futher grant funding applications, followed by early planning permission assessments/applications.
