Visitors To Ash United FC

Welcome to Ash United FC and the Shawfield Stadium

A warm welcome and thank you for coming to the club today.

You will find us at Youngs Drive off Shawfield Rd, Ash, GU12 6RE and we are easily accessible by car off the main A331. From the M3 get off at Junction 4, onto the A331 - take the third exit off to Woking. Up to the roundabout keeping in the left hand lane. Take the first left into Aldershot Road and along towards the next roundabout. Take a left into Shawfield Road and about 500 yards down the road, look for a left hand turn into Youngs Drive. Once in Youngs Drive the ground is about 50 yards in front of you.

From the M25 get onto the A3 towards Guildford and continue onto the A31 (Hogs Back). Carry on along the A31 to the A331 slip road for Aldershot. Travel along the A331 to the Aldershot/Woking slip road. Off the slip road to the roundabout and take the 3rd exit off into Aldershot Road, Ash. Continue to the next roundabout with the Greyhound pub almost opposite you. Take the left turn into Shawfiled Road and follow the above from there.

If travelling to the game by train then South Western Railway services operate from Guildford to Ash station; or if coming from Reading to Ash, on Great Western Railway. Ash station is an approx 20 min walk. Ash station has no taxi rank or cab office so advance booking would be essential. There are three taxi operators suggested by Network Rail, Ash Taxis 01252 333 222; Ace Taxis 01252 330 660; or Diane & John Sweetman Taxis 01252 659 524.

You can use the bus from the station. Stagecoach service "The Kite" runs from Guildford to Aldershot via Ash, with bus stops just up from the station in Ash Church Road. You need to get off at The Greyhound Pub and the Shawfield Stadium is just a short walk down Shawfield Road.

If you are travelling by train from the London area, then you can use Ash Vale station. But beware because it is an approx 35 minute walk between Ash Vale station and Shawfield Stadium. Ash Vale station has no taxi rank or cab office so advance booking would be essential. There are three taxi operators suggested by Network Rail, A Line Taxis 01252 650 000; Ash Taxis 01252 333 222; or Dinez Taxis 01252 651 669

You can use the Stagecoach bus service 3 from the bus stop closest to the railway station on Vale Road (leave the station from the down line and head to the main road and turn left onto Vale Road). Service 3 is the closest bus stop to the ground and only a few minutes walk away.

As an alternative for rail travel you can use a service to Aldershot Railway station. On leaving the railway station, go to the Bus station adjacent. Look for service number 3. Ask the bus driver for a single or return to Ashdene Road, Ash, which is the nearest stop to the ground off Youngs Drive and a few minutes walk away. For your return bus journey to Aldershot, walk to the bus stop nearly opposite Youngs Drive. Current (Sept 2017) Saturday timetables suggest a 17 minute journey from Aldershot Bus Station (bay 4) at 1.33pm; 2.03pm; 2.33pm. The return journey is roughly 19 minutes, at 5.32pm; 6.07pm; 6.39pm.
