Ards Rugby host U14s High Schools Shield semi-final
It was Ards Rugby’s pleasure to host last Friday’s U14s High School Shield semi final between Strangford College & Glastry College.
As with all local derby matches the game was keenly contested but in the end Glastry ran out comfortable winners.
Glastry will now play St Patrick’s, Keady in the final on Wed 13th March at Meadowbank sports arena, Magherafelt.
This semi final was a great advertisement for the work being done in the ‘non-traditional’ rugby schools by not only the school coaches but also Ards Rugby outreach coaches Stevie Nutt & Jude McKenna as part the Ards Rugby ROAR program (Rugby Outreach @ Ards Rugby).
It should also be noted that Ards Rugby’s Adam Faloon & Matthew Wallace are both teachers in the respective schools and at the forefront of rugby in the schools - well done to you both.
