Congratulations to Ards Rugby Chairman Mike Spence on his Lifetime Achievement Award at last night’s Ards and North Down Borough Council Sports Awards.

Mike joined Ards Rugby in 1979 as player and has also performed numerous roles including team captain, 1st XV coach, team manager, President, committee member and more recently Club Chairman.

He has been a great ambassador for Ards Rugby and has used his professional expertise & knowledge to advance things at Ards Rugby.

He has been a positive role model to many and in his own way influenced ‘the road taken’ by many a young person associated with Ards Rugby.

Most of all Mike is loyal, trustworthy, committed, respectful, has great integrity and a great example to us all on how to behave and conduct ourselves.
