The U13's took the field for their first game of the season today against a Cambuslang team with a couple of games at his level already under their belt. In first half Glen's seemed to dominate the possession and territory but struggled to turn this into the points they perhaps deserved with only a single try scored and converted by Alexander Muirhead to show for their efforts. Cambuslang while the well drilled Cambuslang team capitalised on their opportunities to score three unconverted first half tries to leave Glen's trailing 7 - 15 at half time.
Cambuslang had more of the ball in the second half and added another three tries and two conversions to their tally. Glen's heads didn't go down and they kept going to the final whistle when Sam Galbraith polished off the teams efforts with a fine try to end the game.
Final score 12 - 34
A big thanks to the Cambuslang coach who came across after the game to praise the boys efforts and we look forward to meeting them again in a few weeks time. Also thanks to Stephen Bowhay on refereeing duty today who had high praise for the boys as well, whilst singling out the huge effort put in by Lee Macadam throughout the game. And finally, a welcome to Aaron Johnston who played in his first game with the club.
Well done boys!!
