Safeguarding


Acklam RUFC have 5 qualified Safeguarding officers: Malcolm Nicolson is the lead officer; Chris Tosh is responsible for 'Rugby Safe'; Len Taylor is age grade chair; Ray Kelly is Club Chairman; and Mark Collins is club manager.

Safeguarding means protecting the health and well-being of people, enabling them to live safely, free from abuse and neglect. It is about organisations like Acklam RUFC working to prevent and reduce both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect. Rugby Safe is the RFU’s overarching player safety and well-being programme, putting player welfare at the heart of the game and covering how the game should be played and managed to ensure that rugby is as safe as possible.
