The management team, lead by Mark Slater, has recruited well. The management team itself has been supplemented by Sean Sherwood becoming player/coach and Rhys Yates joining as coach/physio who, along with Rick Winstanley, should make the squad among the fittest in the league!

Together they have brought in some quality players from higher levels who have been attracted by the vision and ambition of the club. The aim this season must be to be challenging for silverware.

Pre-season has gone well overall, with victories over Little Lever, Middleton Colts and Bury GSOB. The only reverse was at the hands of Stoneclough. Training has been intense and the players are bedding in well.

The 1st game of the season is away at Springhead, where last season Walshaw lost 3-2. They will be keen to improve on that result tomorrow.

There will be a minutes silence before the game in memory of Rick Casey, a true gentleman who was a large part of the Springhead community.
