Full-time students, Modern Apprentices and unemployed to benefit from reduced

At last Saturday's club AGM next season's membership fees were agreed.

Fees were increased a few seasons ago to £125 to cover some of the cost of paying for a physio to support the team, as well as some training kit. Having reviewed the way it has operated a few changes are proposed:

Full Playing Membership

  1. fees will be reduced to £90:
  2. the cost and quality of individual training kit has increased and to a large extent the club has absorbed this cost which isn't really sustainable. There is also an additional burden of administering the kit allocation, which hasn't worked particularly well for a number of reasons. As per our kit deal with Rhino, players are expected to wear Rhino socks and shorts for matches and these will be available to purchase from the club shop when you need to replace the ones you have;
  3. the club will continue to pay for physio services and we're delighted Shona is staying with us.

Student Membership

All those in full-time tertiary education (college/university) are entitled to a reduced rate for membership fees and this has been extended to include Modern Apprentices and anyone who is unemployed.

One of the key objectives of the club, which is also one of the founding charitable purposes,is to encourage increased participation in rugby and one of the ways we can do that is to remove some of the financial burden of membership.

For students, MAs, and unemployed for this season:

  • fees will be £45;
  • there will be no kit allocation as per previous seasons;
  • As per our kit deal with Rhino, players are expected to wear Rhino socks and shorts for matches and these will be available to purchase from the club shop when you need to replace the ones you have;
  • all players will still have access to physio services at training.

Any player who has children playing at the club will continue to receive associated discounts for them.

All players will be entitled to access to purchase international tickets through the club provided membership payments are up to date and you are properly registered on SCRUMS.

New membership forms will become available nearer the start of the season and like last season we will be offering a choice of payment methods. More details will follow when they are available.
