Biography

Dave Winfield agreed terms to re-join the Club for the 2021/22 season in July 2021 and was named Club Captain in November of that year.

The 33-year-old defender last played for the Clarets during the 2019/2020 campaign.

Between October and December 2019, Winfield made 10 appearances for the Club before departing the EMG Inspire Stadium for Vanarama National League side Bromley.

Dave re-joins the Club with a host of experience to his name, having played in both Sky Bet League One and League Two.

The centre-back began his career with Aldershot Town, who he gained promotion to the Football League with in 2008.

In 2010, Winfield departed the Shots and joined Wycombe Wanderers, with the Chairboys sealing promotion to League One during his first season at Adams Park.

Further spells with Football League clubs would follow, with Dave representing Shrewsbury Town, York City and AFC Wimbledon.

In 2016, Dave dropped to Vanarama National League South level, signing for Ebbsfleet United, where he again sealed promotion in his first season with a club.

The following two years would be spent in the National League before moving to the Clarets for his short stay.
