Young attacker Anisius Lewis signed his first contract with the Club in Janurary 2022.

The deal means that Lewis become the first player to graduate from the Academy.

The forward, who turned 18 in November 2021, made his senior debut for the Clarets during the 2020/21 campaign.

Lewis’ first and only outing for City came in the 4-1 defeat against Oxford City in February 2021, during which the late substitute bagged an assist for Simeon Jackson’s first goal for the Club.

Having spent his youth career with West Ham United, Southend United and a Colchester United development squad, the 18-year-old forward joined the Clarets in the summer of 2020.

During the Academy’s impressive run in the FA Youth Cup in Mickey Spillane’s side’s first season, Lewis played a key role by scoring five goals on route to facing Ipswich Town in the second round proper.

Despite featuring for the Academy and First Team in pre-season, the attacker has been absent for the majority of the 2021/22 term with a back injury which he has recently returned from.
