This is where it all starts!!! After 9 weeks of pre season training and two trials matches, this weekend sees the Swifts First Team open their league account hosting Wellingborough OG’s at Barkers Lane, while the Second Team squad travel to Peterborough in a friendly.

After two very positive weeks in the trials matches, Swifts will be looking to provide a well rounded and systematic performance to set the standard for the coming season against an historically heavy, physical Wellingborough side. Last season saw just one point separate the two sides in the final league standings with one win going to OG’s and the return match being a draw, showing just how close the two teams really are.

This will be a great opening fixture, and a true test for Coach Stapletons men, who have been simmering away for the last few weeks.... it’s now time to turn up the heat a little.

It is great to welcome no less than FIVE debutants Into the Swifts First XV for the very first time, after many weeks of impressive performances it is well deserved. We welcome Ryan Litchfield, Sam Butler, Alex Smith, Jak-jon Devilliers Winder and Adam Staples.

First Team kick off is 3pm at Barkers Lane, the weather is looking good and a feisty encounter is promised, so come on down and support the Boys..... COME ON YOU SWIFTS!
